How to use your trip page

This is Ashley's personal trip journal for the St. James, Long Island weekend (Sept 10–14). It's a day-by-day plan she can check off as she goes, jot memories onto, and fill with photos — all saved automatically and pulled together into a shareable trip recap at the end. Here's what each part does.

  1. 01

The countdown finds today for you

A live countdown to Sept 10 sits at the top of the page. As the trip gets closer, the next day floats to the top with an "Up next" badge. Once the trip starts, the current day rises to the top and switches to a "Today" badge, and within it the next stop moves to the front — so you never lose your place.

  2. 02

Weather is shown on every day

Each day card has a forecast strip: an icon, the high and low, and a rain-chance pill. If a day hits a 50% chance of rain or more, the strip turns orange with a "have a backup plan" nudge — handy for the kayak day.

  3. 03

    Check off a stop

Tap the circle next to any stop. A check appears, the card turns soft amber, and the title gets a line through it. Tap again to undo. Every checkmark feeds the progress bar at the top and the recap page.

  4. 04

Add a memory to any stop

Under each stop is a note box that says "Add a memory…". Type anything — what you ate, a favorite moment, a quote. It saves the moment you tap away from the box, so you never lose a thought.

  5. 05

    Upload photos from the moment

Tap "Add photos" on any stop to pick pictures from your phone. They upload and appear in a little grid under that stop. Tap the trash icon on a photo (it shows on hover) to remove it. Multiple photos per stop are fine.

  6. 06

Open any stop in Google Maps

Stops with a place have a small "Map" pill next to the time. Tap it to open directions in Google Maps in a new tab.

  7. 07

See the whole trip on one map

Tap "Map" in the top-right of the itinerary to open a full Google Map with every stop pinned. Pins are numbered and color-coded by day (1–5). Tap a pin for the date, time, details, and a link to open it in Google Maps.

  8. 08

    Read the recap afterward

Tap "Recap" in the top-right to see everything you checked off, every note, and every photo — gathered day by day. Your notes and photos are saved as you add them, so the recap fills itself in automatically; before the trip it's empty, and after it's the whole story. You can share the recap page with anyone via the link, or export it as a PDF.

  9. 09

Save the recap as a PDF

On the recap page, tap "Save as PDF". It opens your phone's print/share sheet — choose "Save to Files" or share it. The layout is clean and white, ready to print or keep.

Everything you check, write, and upload is saved automatically.

No log-in, no save button to remember — just open the page and it's there on any device.
